GIANTS BREEZE PAST HULL FC IN BETFRED CHALLENGE CUP | MATCH REPORT

Huddersfield Giants hit 50 again as they put Hull FC to the sword to reach the Quarter-Finals of the Betfred Challenge Cup!

Head Coach Ian Watson was forced into a number of changes through injury, with Harvey Livett, Joe Greenwood and Ashton Golding returning to the 17.

The Giants started with purpose and intent, and within three minutes they were over the line for the opening try, as Jake Connor's high kick was taken by Tui Lolohea and he kicked in-behind for Sam Halsall to gather and score.

A slick move from Jack Murchie led him feeding in Kevin Naiqama for another try soon after, with a nice offload that you'll want to see on the highlights reel, Jake Connor adding the goal making it 10-0 early on.

Hull FC hit back monetarily, after Morgan Smith kicked a 40/20, this gave the visitors attacking space for Jordan Lane to crash over.

The pressure from FC was short lived however, as Ian Watson's men turned up the heat with ten minutes to go in the first half, Liam Tindall couldn't deal with a deft kick from Tui Lolohea and Sam Halsall capitalised to score his second, before Adam Swift scored his first of the afternoon.

This try was in particularly special, as it was the wingman's 150th Career Try, he wouldn't stop there though.

The scores stood at 20-6 going into the break, a comprehensive first half for the Giants who were looking to bounce back after a lacklustre performance vs Hull KR last time out.

Adam Swift started the scoring within ten minutes of the second half, racing in at the corner to push the game further away from the visitors.

Hull FC had a number of chances in-between our tries, after they raced nearly the length of the pitch through two interceptions, but as they went for the big play, Morgan Smith's looping pass was collected by Sam Halsall who raced the full length of the field to complete his hat-trick.

In similar fashion to the Castleford game, we went for the kill in this game and scored a number of tries in the remaining fifteen minutes as we racked up a huge score.

Former FC man completed his treble to compound a miserable afternoon for the visitors, before the returning Harvey Livett crossed for his first try of the season, with Kevin Naiqama grabbing his second of the afternoon with minutes to go.

The scoring was complete as Adam Swift raced through Jayden Okunbor to pull the Giants uptown the 50 mark and complete a resounding win for Huddersfield as they advance to the next round of the Betfred Challenge Cup.
